Color Help Needed

I have been practicing shading with watercolor markers.

I need ideas for color palettes for this stamp. I can't tell if I just don't like the image or if it has potential if I picked colors that were harmonious.

I too like the left one better, i.e., the one with the blue dress. You're almost there with that one. I would add some pink/red hues to the sky like you have in the other picture. This would balance the red hues on either side of her. You might also add some gold/brown highlights to the red stained glass or maybe a dark blue. Maybe consider matting it on a blue also and shade the drapes a bit more. You're so close. Looking forward to seeing the finished one!

I agree with the others - I like the left one better. Something about the blue dress, I think. I am curious what you intend to do with it - a mat might be the touch you need to pull it all together.

Nice watercoloring, by the way. I totally avoid watercoloring, if possible, so I'd stamp this on patterned paper, cut out the dress and call it done! :-)

I would had a bit of pink and yellow to the dress. Pink and yellow towards the middle. Take for instance the color of the sky when the sun it going down. You have a beautiful lavender/blue with yellow/pink/orange....That is how I decide what colors to watercolor when I do a project. I look at the colors that nature give us. When using blues, I usually use three different blues with teals and greens even a bit of turquoise. Just remember the way the light would hit an object and take your color hints from there. I like what you have so far just go a little bit farthur and you will have a masterpiece.

Heather - I know my comment was no help whatsoever, but I would love to see what you ended up doing!
