Happy Sunday back at ya!
I started this project a few days ago, then put it aside. I got this far today, then stopped because I think it needs something else, but I am not sure what.
I thought I'd play up the purple brads by putting a purple ribbon under the red and green layers, but it looked stupid. Any other ideas? Besides dis-assembling it, that is!
Thanks!
Update: I performed some minor surgery to remove the snowflake brad and replaced it with a bow.
I used a cream ribbon with a gold edge, the better to blend in to the background, but still add a soft touch.FYI, I am not ignoring the other suggestions, but the way this card evolved (a cheap pack o'circle clips from Staples and a cheap pack o'brads from who-knows-where, and me trying to use up all of them), I do not really have the option of using all the same color brad on one card. Sooo, I've gotta work with what it is, which is why I mixed 'em up. And me, being a little @nal, I had to line them up as evenly as possible on top of the clips. ;-)
This is one with all rust-colored circle clips, where the one above has dark blue. Somewhere lurks one with the olive clips. A totally different look, I think.
Anyway, I am open for more suggestions, including "toss it!" I have a craft show this weekend, and if these can be saved, they will go into sleeves and be inventoried. Otherwise, into the scrap heap.

I like the overall design. The snowflake tree topper isn't working for me because it is too fussy with the simple lines of the tree. Have you considered a funky star of a bright color or a metallic for a topper?
I would adjust the "bulbs to that the blue and purple aren't in a straight line and I would use a "single" the red or green in the top spot.
Heather - What if I replace the snowflake brad with a red bow? It sould cover the hole from the brad :-), and add a soft element.
I think you should try it- I think the color and shape would look better!
Darn Day Job calls to me. I hope to get back to this some time during the week. Thanks!
I too am liking the design...and the theme name is cool....Myabe change the brads to all one color, instead of multi...and loose the snowflake which doesnt seem to go with the flow....I do like the bow idea...something that would contrast the all-one-color brads.
I'd love it better without the tree topper and can anyone tell me how to make the cards bigger? Tried double clicking, right clicking, standing on my head clicking but nothing works for me!!
Interesting that the card will not open larger. Hmmmm ... I'll look at it tonight.
I know I'm a bit behind here, but please don't SCRAP this card- it is way too cute! In fact, I think you should do more. Try one with nothing on top of the tree- I think that might look cool too!
It's nice that you have posted the changes- that's what this site is all about!
Hey I like the bow and the bottom version is my favorite. Thanks for uploading the updated version.
"Try one with nothing on top of the tree" --- Yes, it would look cool, except that there is a HOLE there from the snowflake brad that needs to be covered up. ;-) Perhaps a glue dot with lots of glitter would work. Let me ponder that one.
Leslie,
Sorry to post this here, but I'm wondering how you edited your original post to add the extra pictures? I thought I'd post the changes I've made, but not sure how. Thanks!
how you edited your original post to add the extra pictures
When you open the blog, click on Posts, and it will list all the posts. You can only edir your own, and you should see the word Edit to the left of your post. Click on that and just add to it.
But be careful - I accidentally deleted my original photo and had to go find it again to put it back!
