New Here

Hi All... my name is Nancy and you can find my blog at Nancy's Creative Mess. I was just approved this morning to take part here at Stamping Critique. What a neat idea.

I posted this card on my blog the other day and while I love the idea of the card, I don't like the card.

I'd appreciate any suggestions!

edit to add: the white dots are Liquid Pearl dots.

Welcome! I like the "pearls" on the red layer- are they brads or Stickles or what?

I think the silver snowflake breaks up the focal point too much- what about relocating it to the lower right corner?

I like the stamp! Too cute.

What about some ribbon or something?

I find that your designer paper has gotten lost on the pale blue background.............maybe a white mat with just a sliver of white showing........1/16" maybe. I love the rest of it.

I like the layout, but I agree with Heather on the snowflake.

How about an embellishment or maybe even a stamped snowflake (subtle, like Versamark) in the upper left corner, balanced with a sentiment in the bottom right?

I love this card, Nancy! I agree with Heather and Leslie...maybe the snowflake is taking away from the main image?

I agree with kristee - the DP needs a little something behind it to make it pop more. Otherwise I like it alot!

What about keeping the snowflake brad, but putting it on the upper left side of the scallop, then adding a small sentiment to the bottom right?

Cute card! I love the red scallop coupled with the blue. A few changes I might suggest: move the snowflake brad (as has been said already) maybe attach it to a sentiment that is below the scallop.. also, I would consider restamping the image so it is a bit more centered in the scallop. Of course ribbon usually doesn't hurt, but if you add the sentiment you may not need it.
