Well, I redid the last one I posted using wintergreen striped paper in place of the blue piece, but it's still not workingn for me so I'm moving on! So, this is what I'm starting. I have used acetate between the layers to suspend the snowflake on (one on each side- offset). I like the window idea and the snowflake in there, but something is missing. Still trying to keep this simple for the large stamp camp I'm doing so I'm trying my hardest to avoid another layer (like where the sentiment is). Does this just need some ribbon and be done with it? Where would you put it? Do you like the colors? I'm avoiding the blue bayou/soft sky combo because I've done that for antoher card. I know this isn't the best picture, but the cardbase is Wild Wasabi and the snowflakes are stamped in bayou and sky...
Oh crud, I just realized I should not even use those colors because then we'll have to share inkpads between projects and I really don't think that would work. Do you have any other colors to suggest? I'm not set on the wasabi... just trying it. What about a kraft base with a ballet blue or brilliant blue snowflake?

LOL! have you been to one of MY workshops?! I do this almost every month, and my customers have come to just expect it. ;-)
I actually do like the card the way it is, and I am not just saying that!
I thought about ribbon, as I always do, like tied through the window where you ahve the snowflake. Did you consider suspending the snowflake in the window without using acetate? Just run a piece of Linen Thread down the middle and stick it to the front of the card base before you attach the layers.
Or use the 2-Way Glue Pen on some of the softer-colored images and stick some glitter to them. Maybe just the centers, or parts of the whole snowflake - give people the option! My ladies go crazy with the glitter!
If you do not want to use Soft Sky, what about Bashful Blue and another blue (Ballet?) instead?
Thanks Nancy and Leslie, for your comments! I had considered using floss instead of the acetate- I had never tried this so thought I would. I'll try the next one with the floss and see what I like best (and what is easiest). Well, I just did another one with craft base and brilliant blue and bashful blue. I like the colors. I also added some stickles to the suspended snowflake (I know, it should be glitter instead since that's what we sell.) I love the idea of adding glitter to other areas as well.
I had also thought about doing the ribbon through the window but decided against it, not sure why. I'll add some to this next one and upload to see what you think...

Ya know, I believe my snowflake card was a CASE of your card, and I do apologize.
This is one of those situations where you see a card you like and it moves into your subconscious, then a few weeks later you have ... a great idea!
I do thank you for the inspiration, though, as the card was a HIT at my classes last week! I did not even take credit for coming up with the idea - I always say my cards are a blend of stuff I've seen on the Web.
