Card Box

I found this pattern for a really cute card box and I gave it a try, but I'm just not sure about it. The base of the box is old olive, but I'm wondering if I should have used Really Rust instead. I sponged all of the edges with Really Rust and then added faux stitching with my Chocolate Chip pen.

I'm not sure if the strip of DSP around the top of the box is too "clean" looking--in other words there's too much white in it. I tried to tone it down by adding ribbon.

I don't know. What do you think? Am I just being too picky and it looks fine? Or does it really need some work? Please be honest. Thanks!

I love it box. It is the stripes that don't work for me. Arn't those little boxes fun.....They hold the 3 x 3 cards so nicely.
Mayby just leave the stipe off so it does not distract from the flowers, or....Just add ribbon....heck I don't know....I just think the stripe takes away from the rest of the box.

I like it. I would add a flower, monogram or something to the lower right.

I also love the box....and I am so very partial to the Fall Flowers dp..so I would like any combo. Perhaps "dirty" up the striped piece a little more with some Choc chip ink..I am guessing, the cards included will have the same coordinating papers, so it'll all go together. I LOVE the mongram in the corner idea!! ( with monograms on the noties!!)

This is really pretty - I love it! I like the previous person's idea of a sentiment or something on the lower right. Maybe something matted in white. Or a sentiment piece hanging with thread or jump ring off the tied ribbon.

I'm a stripes and flowers kinda gal so this works fabulously for me. I adore it as is! Maybe throw a flower or monogram as suggested earlier onto the lower right corner...but that is not even a neccessity. Great job!

I think a monogram or a tag would really add to this design.

I like it exactly as is. The stripes work because the white is repeated on the flowers. I'd leave it alone. Love it! On the other hand, nothing wrong with a little bit more as long as it isn't too much more.

I agree with Paula above - love the box but don't find the stripes are really working for me - a bit too clean and sharp edged. I would like a different stripe - similar but a little muted or sponge on quite a bit of ink - either the rust or choc chip

Oh I love it just as it is! I too am partial to the Fall FLowers papers!! But the ideas you've been given on a monogram at the bottom somewhere sounds very nice too- I bet it would look great!

I think it is wonderful just the way it is, too. I like the strips and flowers together and the ribbon is just the right touch.

I like the colors and the papers you've used and think it looks awesome! I agree that perhaps sponging with chocolate chip or old olive instead of the rust might help make it blend together a little better. and I LOVE the idea of a hanging monogram or sentiment on there somewhere!! Good luck!!
